DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

BUSINESS PROBLEM
The U.S. Department of Education established the Race to the Top (RTTT) grant program to encourage states to implement reforms in four key areas:
Adopting standards and assessments that prepare students for success in college, the workplace, and the global economy.
Building data systems to measure student growth and success, while providing actionable insights to teachers and principals to improve instruction.
Recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining effective teachers and principals.
Turning around the lowest-achieving schools.
In response to RTTT, a state Department of Education (DOE) required the development of a centralized portal to serve as a gateway for both the public and K-12 educators, including teachers and principals.
SCALESOLOGY IN ACTION
Data from multiple sources was consolidated into a single data warehouse, serving as the foundation for interactive dashboards. These dashboards provided educators with an integrated view of key metrics, drill-down capabilities, and customizable reporting. Users could also export information in various formats, including Excel, XML, CSV, TFF, and PDF.
RESULT
A centralized portal was developed to serve as a gateway for actionable dashboards and both predefined and customizable reports, accessible by the public and K-12 educators. The portal established a strong foundation for future data expansion and facilitated seamless information exchange among diverse stakeholders.
