BUSINESS PROBLEM
In response to numerous high-profile information security incidents involving organizational vendors, such as SolarWinds and Kaseya, this Hedge Fund decided to assess the risks posed by its IT vendors. Recognizing that information security risks extend beyond their IT environment, the fund also included vendors involved in other projects, such as security camera installations and conference room upgrades for video teleconferencing. This broadened scope required the review of numerous projects and vendors, presenting a significant challenge for the fund’s small IT team.
SCALESOLOGY IN ACTION
The Scalesology team collaborated closely with the fund’s IT team to help address their substantial backlog of vendor risk assessments. Scalesology’s unique expertise in both information security and application development proved critical to the project’s success. Notably, the Scalesology team independently managed the majority of projects requiring custom code development, allowing the Hedge Fund’s IT team to focus on other priorities.
RESULT
After six months, the Hedge Fund successfully cleared its backlog of third-party risk assessments, a task that would have taken significantly longer and hindered ongoing projects without the additional expertise provided by Scalesology. Scalesology continues to collaborate with the Hedge Fund, ensuring their security measures remain compliant with SEC regulatory standards.
